Mullany Pals Put Best Feet Forward

FRIENDS and family of Ben and Catherine Mullany stepped up their bid to keep the couple’s good work alive.

Around 50 people took part in the 10k sponsored walk to raise money for the charity set up in memory of the couple.

Medical school pals of Catherine travelled to Wales for the outing, which also featured her colleagues from Morriston and Singleton hospitals.

Walkers set off from Mumbles Cricket Club at around midday on Sunday. Family friend Geri Jacks said:

“It was a really joyful day and a beautiful walk.”

“We got a lot of people who were out asking what charity we were doing it for. Hopefully as well as raising money we can raise awareness too.”

“We want to carry on the good work Ben and Catherine started.”

Sunday’s event raised more than £7,500. Trainee physio Ben, and wife Catherine, both aged 31, were murdered while on honeymoon in Antigua last year.

The charity set up their name gives financial help to medical students.
