Blue is Colour of Money
SPORTS fans have once again pitched in to help trainee medics and physiotherapists. Family and friends of Cath and Ben Mullany took part in a bucket collection at Cardiff Blues’ recent Heineken Cup match against Italian side Calvisano.
Fans donated more than £680, with proceeds going to the Mullany Fund. It was set up in memory of physio Ben Mullany and his doctor wife Catherine, who were shot in Antigua last Summer.
A spokesman said: “The aim is to advance the education of medicine and physiotherapy students, as well as keeping Ben and Cath’s dreams alive.”
The charity hopes to reach its target of £50,000 by September — a year from its launch. A string of fund-raising events are planned in the coming months, with the charity hoping to get the green light from the Scarlets for a bucket collection at one of their games.
Prior to his murder, trainee physio Mr Mullany was on work experience with the Scarlets.

"Ben and Catherine leave behind a legacy. They hit the hearts of the nation and the world with such an extraordinary love story."
"I am honoured to support The Mullany Fund, set up to help train new doctors and physiotherapists and keep the dreams of Cath and Ben alive."
