Special Ball Gets Charity Cash Rolling In
ORGANISERS of a charity ball have thanked medics who helped them to raise £3,250 for the Mullany Fund.
The British Medical Association (BMA) held the bash at the Dylan Thomas Centre in Swansea last month.
Charlotte Jones, of the BMA, said she was impressed by the amount raised. “The night was a big success and I am pleased with the money raised. The Mullany Fund is a cause that means a lot to BMA members,” she added.
The educational charity gives financial support to medical students. It was set up in memory of Ben and Catherine Mullany.
The couple were murdered in Antigua in July last year, on the day they were due to fly home from honeymoon. More than £38,000 has been raised for the charity in their name so far.
Further events planned in the coming weeks include a walk along Offa’s Dyke followed by a two-day bicycle ride by Mr Mullany’s uncle, Michael Meredith.

"Ben and Catherine leave behind a legacy. They hit the hearts of the nation and the world with such an extraordinary love story."
"I am honoured to support The Mullany Fund, set up to help train new doctors and physiotherapists and keep the dreams of Cath and Ben alive."
