Football Fans Dig Deep to Boost Mullany Fund

THE family and friends of murder victims Ben and Catherine Mullany have sent a heartfelt message of thanks to generous Swans fans following a bucket collection held before Saturday’s 3-1 win over Wolves at the Liberty Stadium.
Family and friends of Cath and Ben stood at turnstiles asking fans to dig deep for The Mullany Fund. Adam, aged 23, said: “Everybody has been so generous. The minimum going into the buckets was usually £1, and some people were putting in £10 notes.
“We’re really thankful.”
The final total stood at £1,465.13 — with Swansea City FC donating £130 and two free tickets for a forthcoming match.
The Mullany Fund gives financial help to UK students studying medicine. It was set up after trainee physiotherapist Ben and qualified doctor Cath, both of Swansea, were shot dead while on honeymoon in Antigua.
So far, more than £17,000 has been raised.
Another collection will be held at the Ospreys versus Scarlets match at the Liberty on December 27.

"Ben and Catherine leave behind a legacy. They hit the hearts of the nation and the world with such an extraordinary love story."
"I am honoured to support The Mullany Fund, set up to help train new doctors and physiotherapists and keep the dreams of Cath and Ben alive."
